Lebanese composer and singer Ziad Rahbani performed a concert entitled “Gaza” in Sidon, Lebanon on October 10 at the Maarouf Saad Cultural Center, potentially his last performance in Lebanon before his scheduled travel to Russia.
The songs at the concert were dedicated to the people of South Lebanon and the people of Gaza, saluting their steadfastness and resistance. Rahbani also performed classic songs from his repertoire.
During the concert, Rahbani called for the freedom of imprisoned PFLP General Secretary Ahmad Sa’adat, and for all Palestinian prisoners, highlighting Sa’adat’s case and emphasizing that no party has the right to concede Palestinian rights, and particularly the cause of the prisoners.
Comrades Mohammed el-Ghoul and Ahmad Tanani, a youth delegation of the PFLP from Gaza, spoke at the concert, addressing the crowd with a message of resistance from Gaza. Comrades Leila Khaled and Maher Yamani also attended the event.
