Photos from the funeral of Ali Mahmoud Safi, member of PFLP, on March 26. According to most sources he was 20, but one source claims he was 18. Safi died on 25 March after having been shot in the chest by Israel's occupation forces a week earlier, during one of the regular invasions of the Jalazoon refugee camp - invasions which in fact are part of Israel's attempt to make life unbearable for Palestinians under the occupation by making "normal" life impossible through these regular (unpredictable in timing but utterly predictable in inevitability) interruptions.

This time the excuse was said to be a protest by the refugee camp inhabitants against the building of a yet another Wall, intended to close the refugee camp even more and to "protect" the illegal colony of Beit El. The "safety" of illegal Israeli settlers and his courage to stand up and protest cost young Ali Mahmoud Safi his life.

Let's remember once again that no foreign politician and almost no mainstream journalists in the so-called "West" ever mention the safety of the occupied, so throughly has Apartheid Israel's 'narrative' taken over.

Ali Mahmoud Safi is one of thousands of young Palestinians who have dared to think otherwise, who have not lived on their knees as the "West" demands the entire Palestinian people to do and who have paid the ultimate price for their daring. Ali Mahmoud Safi deserved safety and security. Israel as an occupier doesn't and nor does it illegal settler militia.
