In the first attack on Lebanon’s capital Beirut since the recent increase in Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Israel killed three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of
Palestine (PFLP). But as political analyst Omar Baddar insisted, the target wasn’t what mattered; it’s what the attack represented. And that is Israel crossing all the red lines it can to provoke a response from Lebanon, and possibly Iran, which could justify “an all-out war” in the region.

ISRAELI ARMY ABDUCTS NINE PALESTINIANS NEAR RAMALLAH

Israeli forces abducted, at dawn Tuesday, at least nine Palestinians, including three women, a journalist, and a child, in the central West Bank governorate of Ramallah and Al-Biereh. Among the abductees is the wife of PFLP political leader, political prisoner, Ahmad Sa’adat.

Media sources said that occupation forces stormed several areas in the governorate, invaded many citizen’s homes, and carried out a wide-scale abduction campaign.

Sources said that soldiers abducted a woman, Abla Saadat, after storming her home in Al-Biereh.

She is the wife of the political prisoner, Ahmad Saadat, the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

It is worth mentioning that, on December 25, 2008, an Israeli military court sentenced Ahmad Saadat to 30 years in prison for what it called “heading an illegal organization”.

Mr Haniyeh’s assassination was a “cowardly action”, according to Marwan Abdullah, a member of the political bureau of the PFLP.

He said Israel had “failed in the confrontations taking place on the ground and failed to achieve the goals they have announced in this war. This is a big indication that their war goals have changed.”

Vowing that the Palestinians will not be defeated, Mr Abdullah said his movement has “concerns because the enemy has dragged matters to positions that now pose a threat to many aspects of life in this region”.

An ideologically Marxist group, the PFLP was formed in the late 1960s by George Habash, a former doctor whose sister was killed during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.

Its military wing, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, is so called in honour of Mr Habash’s successor, who was assassinated while sitting in his office in 2001.

PFLP: ISRAEL'S ASSASSINATION POLICY WILL NOT WEAKEN THE RESISTANCE

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) mourned the Tulkarem refugee camp martyrs, pledging that the assassination crime “will not pass without punishment.”

The PFLP reiterated in a press statement on Saturday that the Israeli assassination policy will not discourage the heroic resistance fighters and will not break the will of the Palestinian people, stressing that it will promote their commitment to national principles and rights, and persistence in pursuing the approach of resistance despite crimes, massacres, and assassinations.

The Front called on the Palestinian masses in Tulkarem to adhere to the general strike announced by the national forces in mourning for the martyrs.

Nine Palestinian resistance fighters were killed this morning in Israeli drone attacks on two vehicles near Tulkarem.

PFLP PRISONERS TO DECLARE HUNGER STRIKE

Palestinian prisoners affiliated to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) declared intention to go on an open hunger strike in protest against Israeli targeting of detained PFLP leaders and Israeli medical negligence, and in solidarity with Walid Daqqa and other sick prisoners in Ramla prison hospital.

54 PFLP-affiliated prisoners will be the first group to be engaged in the hunger strike after Israeli authorities refused to release the sick prisoner, Walid Daqqa, and continued to target the imprisoned PFLP leader Ahmed Saadat.

Earlier Thursday, the Israeli Prison Service extended the solitary confinement of Ahmad Saadat for two weeks, in addition to denying him family visits for one month.

FIVE MEMBERS OF PFLP'S ARMED WING KILLED IN ISRAEL'S OCCUPATION FORCES' ATTACKS IN BESIEGED GAZA STRIP

Five members of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, were killed in Israel's occupation forces' attacks in Israeli occupied Palestine's besieged Gaza Strip on Wednesday and Thursday.

Of the at least 13 resistance fighters killed in Israel's occupation forces' attacks, the members of PFLP's armed wing form the second largest number, after those of the al-Quds' Brigades of the Islamic Jihad.

The members of Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades who have been killed in the Israeli occupation aggression are: Uday Riyad al-Louh, Muhammad Abu Taima, Alaa Abu Taima, Ayman Saidam & Alam Abdel Aziz.

THREE PALESTINIANS KILLED IN FRESH ISRAELI ATTACKS ON GAZA

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued their air attacks on the Gaza Strip at dawn Thursday, killing three Palestinians and injuring many others, including women and children...

Earlier Wednesday evening, six Palestinians were killed in a new round of Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian health ministry said six people were killed on Wednesday, a day after Israeli strikes on the Palestinian territory left 15 dead.

Four of those killed on Wednesday were fighters with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the group said.

In the most recent Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, at least 24 Palestinians, including at least five women and five children, as well as three leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement were killed.
