Jarrar calls for boycott of Knesset, says UN resolution “was about return to negotiations, not end to occupation”

“The content of the UN Security Council draft resolution was about a return to negotiations, not an end to occupation,” said Comrade Khalida Jarrar, member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. “The terms of the draft were at an even lower level than previous international resolutions. We reject bilateral negotiations and under the auspices of the United States. This is a pathway to negotiatins and more negotiations…The Palestinian official leadership knows that talk of ‘two states for two peoples’ is not a Palestinian national consensus, nor are land swaps with the occupation state.”

Jarrar said that this draft should be withdrawn, and not re-submitted. “It is much better to withdraw this draft than to put it forward in its current form. It is necessary for Palestinians to take action against this project, which brings us back to the futile path of negotiations.”

“My people – and I am part of them – are exposed on a daily basis to harassment and oppression and therefore I will continue to struggle on the basis of positions that are clear and explicit. Occupation and oppression must end,” said Jarrar.

In regards to the upcoming elections to the Knesset, Jarrar said, “In our view, this parliament is one of the occupier. The participation of Palestinian Arabs who seek to give a voice to the Palestinian people in the Zionist Knesset gives cover to the occupation, and thus we urge a boycott of the elections and participation in the Zionist Knesset.”

Zionist attacks on Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails: Statement from PFLP Prison Branch

A special unit of the Prison Services broke into one of the prisoners’ rooms yesterday morning in Ramon prison, emptying Section 5 of Palestinian prisoners and redistributing them to other sections and rooms – a “usual inspection” following normal practices.

In this context, the prisoners are continuing to strategize and struggle, studying all means to end the sanctions imposed upon them. At the present time, Palestinian political prisoners are exploring the possibility of escalating steps of struggle and collective protest in order to end the sanctions and improve the conditions of prisoners’ lives, especially those who belong to Hamas, the Popular Front, Islamic Jihad, the Democratic Front and the People’s Party, considering that these prisoners are most impacted by the sanctions that have been imposed upon the prisoners following the disappearance of three settlers in Hebron in June 2014.

These steps of protest will be initiated in response to the ongoing delays and evasions of the prison authorities in regard to repeated calls to end the sanctions imposed on prisoners.

With respect to media statements on prisoners and the conditions of their lives, we hope that all will follow reliable sources and try to avoid media hype, inaccuracy and exaggeration.

Zionist campaign against Leila Khaled in South Africa confirms correctness of Palestinian resistance

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine denounced the Zionist campaign against Comrade Leila Khaled, Palestinian national figure and member of the Political Bureau of the PFLP and her visit to South Africa, noting that these attacks only confirm the correctness of the Front’s commitment to resistance and of Leila Khaled’s struggle.

The PFLP noted that this political and media attack on Khaled and the Palestinian resistance was launched in response to the tour taking place early next month in nine cities in South Africa. It is an extension of earlier Zionist attempts to block her participation in demonstrations, lectures and meetings in various cities around the world and an ongoing Zionist campaign to silence Palestinian revolutionary voices.

The Zionist occupation has seen that South Africa and its own struggle against settler colonialism and apartheid has inspired heavy losses on a political and economic level and that the South African movement has played a major role in revealing the criminal and racist face of Israel to the world.

The Front noted that no one has forgotten that the Zionist state supported the racist system of apartheid in South Africa at the same time that the Palestinian people supported the struggles of their brothers and sisters in the African National Congress until their victory over the apartheid regime.

The Front expressed on its own behalf and that of the Palestinian people its salutes and greetings for the South African people and social movements, and the supporters of the Palestinian people who took the initiative to invite Comrade Leila Khaled, particularly BDS South Africa, whose boycott campaign has been growing with great resonance. This movement succeeded in mobilizing hundreds of thousands to take to the streets against the assault on Gaza and formed a real force to pressure the occupation politically and economically in South Africa.

The Front criticized the silence of the Palestinian embassy in South Africa on this Zionist campaign. Comrade Leila Khaled is a member of the Palestinian National Council and it is the responsibility of the embassy to condemn these kinds of attacks on a member of the PNC.

PFLP mourns slain Palestinian boy Osama Abu Jundiyya, calls for national unity and resistance

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine urged Palestinian national unity and resistance in response to the killing of Palestinian boy Osama Ali Mohammed Abu Jundiyya, 17, between al-Khalil and Bethlehem on Wednesday night, January 14. He was killed by occupation forces as part of the ongoing settler terror and continuous assaults on our people, noted the Front, which requires a comprehensive national strategy of confrontation of the Zionist occupation and its crimes.

The Front expressed its sincere condolences to the Palestinian people and to the family of the young martyr, and reiterated that the crime of cold-blooded murder is a systematic Zionist policy which has tended to escalate on the eve of the elections in the occupation state, in which the leaders of the occupation trade Palestinian blood for votes.

The Front urged national Palestinian unity to confront the ongoing assaults on our people, their lives, their land and their rights.

PFLP mourns the martyrs of the Lebanese resistance assassinated by Zionist airstrike

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine sent a message of condolences to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the General Secretary of Hezbollah, in the name of its General Secretary, Comrade Ahmad Sa’adat, and all of the leadership and members of the PFLP, mourning the martyrs, six Hezbollah leaders and cadres assassinated in Syria by a Zionist airstrike.

The Front saluted Hezbollah’s “escalation of the resistance as a strategic option and a comprehensive culture…building a serious force to be reckoned with and confronting the Zionist enemy both with words and deeds, which has earned the well-deserved respect of the revolutionaries of the world.”

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the PFLP, had earlier issued a statement mourning the slain leaders of the Lebanese resistance: Mohammed Issa, Jihad Imad Mughniyyeh, Abbas Hijazi, Mohammed Ali Hassan Abu al-Hassan, Razi Ali Dawi and Ali Hassan Ibrahim, noting that the Palestinian and Arab resistance are together in the fight against the Zionist criminal enemy.
